2020 State Fair of West Virginia FAQs


I don’t feel safe coming to the fair, can I get a refund?
Yes! Your safety is our highest priority. All purchased tickets will be refunded to the original form of payment within 30-60 days. Call ETIX, 1-800-514-3849 to receive a refund.

What is the fair doing to keep us safe?
The State Fair of West Virginia will be following all CDC guidelines and practicing a number of cleanliness protocols, which include; enhanced cleaning and sanitizing of surface areas, COVID-19 testing of out-of-state vendors and ride workers, and much more.

Do I have to wear a mask?
Yes, it is highly recommended that you wear a facial mask or covering to the 2020 fair. Not only do facial masks help prevent you from getting sick, they prevent you from infecting others even if you are asymptomatic.

Will there be a carnival?
Yes! Reithoffer shows is coming to the State Fair of West Virginia with the personnel and equipment to keep everyone safe. A full list of their safety measures will be available soon!

Does everyone have to be six-feet apart?
Yes, we strongly encourage fairgoers to stay six-feet apart from non-family members. The State Fair of West Virginia will be implementing spacing markers to help keep everyone distant.

Will there be free entertainment?
Yes! All of your favorite free entertainment favorites will be performing this year! Including, Hypnotist Catherine Hickland, Marc Dobson the One Man Band, the Timberworks lumberjacks, and many more!

When are entries due?
Livestock and Home Arts & Garden entries will open on Wednesday, June 17th and close on Wednesday, July 8th.

When is camping registration and payment due?
Due to delay of affirmation of the State Fair, camping registration must be received by Friday, June 19.

I don’t want to come this year; will I lose my camping spot?
Your health and safety is our highest priority. In order to keep your camping spot for the 2021 fair you MUST pay to secure your spot this year, whether or not you come this year.
