The State Fair of West Virginia is accessible by way of paved walkways, handicapped parking, wheel chair ramps/access to buildings, special drop off area for disabled guests, handicapped seating and interpreters for Grandstand performances.

During our annual State Fair, we are proud to work with Vista Mobility for your various rental needs:

  • Strollers = $9
  • Wagons = $13
  • Wheelchairs = $15
  • Electric Scooters = $45

Vista Mobility will be conveniently located by the Main Entrance to the Fairgrounds immediately off of the SFWV main parking area. Look for their tent behind the ticket booths.

Why is the Fair an agricultural event?
The State Fair began as an agricultural event and its mission statement opens with the primary goal being, “to produce a quality fair committed to the traditions of agriculture.” The importance of agriculture in daily life, society and international markets is a very important educational focus of the Fair’s programming.

Are there any agricultural contests?
There are agricultural-related contests and events throughout the entire nine day event, as well as educational programming for local schools (Partners In Education ).

How can I enter my livestock in the open shows during the fair?
Refer to the Exhibitor’s Guide for complete rules and regulations for the type of animal you’re considering.  After determining the show and class you wish to enter, complete the Livestock Entry Form (online or print & mail) with specified entry fees.

What types of items can be entered in State Fair contests?
The Fair has classes in livestock exhibits, food contests, crafts, agricultural produce and much more. To find more information on the guidelines for entering your item or animal, please view the Exhibitor’s Guide.

Do I have to purchase a ticket to enter the Fairgrounds?
Yes. There is a daily admission ticket to enter the Fairgrounds. Additional tickets are required for carnival rides and some concerts/shows. Please visit the “Tickets/Ticket Pricing ” page to find more details on special values, pricing and ticket availability.

What types of entertainment can I expect at the Fair?
Each year the Fair offers various FREE entertainment acts along with concerts and shows performing in the Grandstand (additional ticket purchase may be required). Sign up for our email newsletter to get the latest information on entertainment for the  upcoming 2011 State Fair.

Is Alcohol allowed at the State Fair?
No alcohol is permitted. Alcoholic beverages may not be consumed, sold or distributed on the fairgrounds.

Does the State Fair have a pet policy?
Seeing-eye and other service animals for the disabled are permitted. No other pets are allowed on the Fairgrounds. Pets are allowed in off-grounds parking/camping areas, but MUST be on leashes or otherwise confined at all times.

Is the State Fair handicapped accessible?
The fairgrounds is accessible with paved walkways, wheelchair accessibility to buildings, wheelchair and electric stroller rentals, handicapped parking, drop off area for disabled guests, special seating in the Grandstand and interpreters for Grandstand shows.

Where is the Fair located?
The Fairgrounds is located 3 miles south of exit #169 off Interstate 64 at Lewisburg. Please visit “Map/Directions ” for more detail.

Are there any opportunities for me as a concessionaire?
Several possibilities exist for people to sell or display their goods. For more information email us at events@statefairofwv.com.
