LEWISBURG, WV (02/25/2014)(readMedia)– Applications are now available for the 2014 State Fair of West Virginia Youth Council, sponsored by S.J. Neathawk Lumber.
The Youth Council is open to individuals ages 16-19, who are interested in expanding their leadership and event management skills through involvement in the annual State Fair of West Virginia. In its fourth year, the 2014 Youth Council will have four (4) available seats.
“We are very pleased that S.J. Neathawk Lumber has continued their support of the State Fair’s Youth Council,” says Kelly Tuckwiller, Agricultural Competitions Manager. “The Youth Council is an important program to our Fair and Neathawks has been crucial in helping us to grow. The council members in the past have been wonderful to work with, and we are looking forward to another great group of individuals in 2014!”
Selected members will be encouraged to participate in learning opportunities developed in the three key areas as outlined in the mission: Agriculture, Education and Family Entertainment. This will include volunteer opportunities during the annual State Fair and personal education/informational opportunities provided by State Fair staff and board of directors. Members will attend at least one pre-fair planning meeting and participate as necessary in pre-fair conference calls.
