There’s nothing like working at the State Fair of West Virginia! Regardless of whether you start in May or work for the ten days in August, you get the feeling that you’re a part of an “end of summer celebration”! Many people have made working at the Fair an annual tradition, and we invite you to join us. Our departments include: maintenance, the administration office, ticket office, entry department, grounds keeping, security, merchandise, grandstand ushers, ticket sales and more.
Full Time Employment Opportunities
Office Assistant – Reporting to the CEO, the Office Assistant is the first point of contact and receptionist for the State Fair of West Virginia (SFWV) and provides a variety of complex secretarial and administrative duties in support of the CEO and other Managers.

Volunteer
The State Fair of West Virginia will be looking for some helping hands for the Give and Grow Volunteer program during the 2024 State Fair. Volunteers will be rewarded with one complimentary gate admission ticket for each shift worked! What a great way to become a part of the State Fair team! Civic And Youth Organizations
The State Fair has opportunities for non-profit and community service organizations to raise money by volunteering during the ten day event. Community groups including youth, seniors and more can assist in a variety of services including helping with barn cleaning, serving in guest relations and more. Representatives of the Fair and the organization develop a volunteer plan outlining the hours, type of work and benefits for the group.
