LEWISBURG, WV (07/07/2009)(readMedia)– The fourth annual Farming Heritage Award will be presented to the Waldeck Farm – Pauline Waldeck, Family Matriarch, Cedarville, WV. Since 1877, five generations have continued the operation of this 500-plus acre beef cattle farm.
The award is sponsored by the State Fair of West Virginia and the West Virginia Farm Bureau and presented to a worthy family who has demonstrated a commitment to a rural lifestyle, been involved in their community, and served as role models to others in the state of West Virginia.
The Waldeck’s will receive their award in a ceremony to be held on Thursday, August 20, 2009, “Governor’s Day” at the State Fair of West Virginia. They will also be treated to a day at the Fair including overnight accommodations and will receive a Natural Stone award to display at their farm.
