State Fair and Smart 529 Announce Coloring Contest Winners

 

LEWISBURG, WV (06/30/2011)(readMedia)– The State Fair of West Virginia and Smart 529 received 89 entries in the coloring competition hosted for children across West Virginia. Children enrolled in Kindergarten through third grade submitted their best colored depiction of the State Fair of West Virginia. The state fair and Smart 529 encouraged children to color their favorite fair memories to correspond to this year’s theme, “It’s All Here.” The entries were judged on creativity, finding the hidden objects and the coloring of the “It’s All Here” picture. Prizes will be awarded for each grade. The winners are:

Grand prize kindergarten winner: Jayme Meadows from Cross Lanes, WV. First prize kindergarten winner: Cory Harper from Beverly, WV. Second Prize kindergarten winner: Graci Ketterman from Buckhannon, WV.

Grand prize first grade winner: Keyana Taylor from Ronceverte, WV. First prize first grade winner: Emily Ross from South Charleston, WV. Second prize first grade winner: Emma Subora from Martinsburg, WV.

Grand prize second grade winner: Jody Mullens from Brandywine, WV. First prize second grade winner: Savannah Bailey from Brenton, WV. Second prize second grade winner: Peyton Sheaves from Danese, WV.

Grand prize third grade winner: Mackenzie Stover from Fayetteville, WV. First prize third grade winner: Kashawna Kenneda from Davy, WV. Second prize third grade winner: Dana Goodman from Man, WV.

Winners will receive the following prizes:

Grand Prize: $50, four State Fair gate admission tickets, an iPod nano, and two tickets to the Big Time Rush Concert on Sunday, August 14

First Prize: $25, four State Fair gate admission tickets and a ribbon

Second Prize: $15, two State Fair gate admission tickets and a ribbon

SMART 529 is issued by the West Virginia College Prepaid Tuition and Savings Program Board of Trustees and is administered by The Hartford Life Insurance Company.
