State Fair Announces 2011 Scholarship Winners

 

LEWISBURG, WV (05/13/2011)(readMedia)– The State Fair of West Virginia, in association with corporate, civic and individual contributors, has awarded five (5) $1,000 four (4) year scholarships from the State Fair Scholarship and Endowment Program. These scholarships recognize youth who have participated in the State Fair, excelled academically and demonstrated a proven financial need.

Applicants must be a West Virginia resident and must be pursuing a vocational trade, associate or bachelors degree, and must have participated in the Junior Livestock Show, Equine Show or 4-H and FFA Youth Exhibit Program within the past five (5) years. Applicants must be eligible for college admission during the same year in which they apply for the State Fair Scholarship, or must be currently enrolled in post secondary education.

The State Fair of West Virginia is proud to announce the following recipients:

MacKenzie Ansley from Ballard, WV – will attend Concord University

Amanda McGuire from Union, WV – will attend Marshall University

Erica McGuire from Union, WV – will attend Marshall University

Payton Mann from Cass, WV – will attend Potomac State College

Michelle Biser from Moorefield, WV – will attend West Virginia University

The 2011 State Fair is themed “It’s All Here” and is scheduled August 12-20.
