State Fair Debuts Two Stages to Showcase Regional Talent

 

LEWISBURG, WV (05/27/2011)(readMedia)– The State Fair of West Virginia is introducing two new ways for regional talent to be highlighted at the fair.The newest stage, The Blue Ribbon Stage, will not only be home to the Mapapa African Acrobat show all nine days and the Best of the Counties Pie Bakeoff, it will also be a stage for special performances by talented people from across the region.

The state fair is currently seeking various talents to perform at the first ever Blue Ribbon Stage. To be considered to perform, please send a dvd of the performance to the State Fair office. The fair welcomes talent from across the spectrum. Anything from clogging to juggling is invited to send in a DVD and contact information.

Another way for fairgoers to have their talent in the spotlight is to apply for the Five Minutes of Fame performances during the harness races. This new concept will take place in between harness races Monday-Thursday of the fair. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday will showcase four performances, while Thursday will have two. Five Minutes of Fame is designed to provide entertainment in between harness races.

People interested in performing on stage at the grandstand during the Five Minutes of Fame should send a DVD of their performance to the state fair or upload their performace to the state fair’s Facebook page with contact information.
