LEWISBURG, WV (07/15/2011)(readMedia)– Enjoy a “sneak peak” of the 2011 State Fair of West Virginia during the Second Annual Fun First Fundraiser. This unique event provides support for the State Fair Endowment and youth scholarships, and gives donors the first chance to experience the excitement of the Reithoffer carnival midway and get their first taste of fair food!
The casual event is scheduled for Thursday, August 11 from 6 p.m. – 8p.m. in the Carnival Midway. For each $50 donation, donors will receive a ride wristband and have access to a variety of fair foods and drinks. Donors who do not wish to use the ride wristband can give the wristband to the partner agency, Children’s Home Society, and they will select a child to enjoy the rides.
Fun First tickets can be purchased in the State Fair Administration office from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. On the event day, you may purchase a ticket in the state fair office, or between 4 p.m. – 6 p.m. at the merchandise/information booth just inside the bridge.
Created in 2007, the State Fair Endowment supports scholarships, youth educational enrichment programs and agricultural premiums.
