“We are happy to welcome the latest acts to our 2015 State Fair of West Virginia Concert Series,” CEO Kelly Collins stated. “All three acts bring something different to our lineup and with just over 100 days until we open the gates, we are excited!”
Saturday, August 15 – 8 pm, THIRD DAY – Celebrating a powerful and uplifting 20+ years since the original independent release of the band’s GOLD selling self-titled debut album, THIRD DAY – which Billboard has called “one of the best rock bands, period” – forges new but familiar ground on its 12th studio album, Lead Us Back: Songs of Worship. Looking beyond the extraordinary stats and accolades including 30 #1 singles, more than 8.5 million albums sold, 24 GMA Dove Awards, four GRAMMY®s, an American Music Award and being honored as a Georgia Music Hall of Fame inductee, the band is focusing on the spirit of worship and a pure consistency that has driven all of its recordings and live performances, and has always inspired its loyal fans to draw closer to God.
Mac Powell (lead vocals), Mark Lee (guitars), Tai Anderson (bass) and David Carr (drums), extol the eternal virtues of “Our Deliverer” and “Maker” while asking Him to “Lead Us Back” to the passionate faith that all believers had at the beginning of their walk with Christ.
Tuesday, August 18 – 8 pm, Easton Corbin – Mercury Nashville recording artist Easton Corbin is lauded for his traditional country sound, authentic lyrics and mastery of understatement. His self-titled debut album released in 2010 and spawned back-to-back hits “A Little More Country Than That” and “Roll With It;” making him the first country male artist in 17 years to have his first two consecutive singles reach No. 1.
In 2012 the Gilchrist County Florida native released his sophomore album, All Over The Road, which included the Top 5 hits “Lovin’ You Is Fun” and “All Over The Road.” Corbin set a career-best debut on Country Airplay with his current Top 15 and rising single, “Baby Be My Love Song,” the second single from his upcoming album About To Get Real – scheduled for release on June 30. As a former FFA member Corbin recently partnered with Ram Truck brand and FFA to celebrate the “Year of the Farmer” by visiting and performing for FFA members in numerous cities along his Fall/Winter tour route last tear.
Tuesday, August 18 – 8 pm, A Thousand Horses – When Rolling Stone Country hailed A Thousand Horses as the best up-and-comer at the Austin City Limits Music Festival, it was the latest in a whole series of accolades that got the band even more fired up.
A Thousand Horses is a fresh fusion of classic sounds – a hybrid of Lynyrd Skynyrd, the Allman Brothers, Black Crowes and Exile on Main Street-era Rolling Stones, wrapped up in a modern-country context. The band’s Republic Nashville album, Southernality, is as wild and free and powerful as the name A Thousand Horses implies. This is the result of years of a road-doggin’ pursuit, determination and an against-the-odds struggle that found its rewards by bringing great music to the people.
